About Me

My Name is Amy and I currently live in Portsmouth. I moved to Portsmouth from Kent to pursue a degree in Law. I am currently in my second year of LLB Law at Portsmouth University and on track to achieve an upper second class honours. It is my passion to become a socio-legal researcher, specifically focusing on women's oppression that stems from legal structures.

Unfortunately, I struggle (like many) with mental health. I have been diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar Disorder Type 2. I have experienced mental health since around the age of 11 and it has stuck with me for the past ten years.

This blog alongside attempting to help others who are struggling is a method of self-help for me. I find it therapeutic putting feelings onto paper and my knowledge of how to help myself is there to inspire and help whoever reads.

Last fucking year. Arguably the worst year of my life that contained loss, hurt, heartbreak. In the bleakest of times I wasn’t sure that I would see 2018. I must add that this blog will not constantly be about my own experience. My mental wellbeing started to flail when I was around 10 or 11. My family and friends noticed a huge difference from the big, bright-eyed and bubbly girl who had always been laughing and happy, to someone drenched with depression and self-harming every day.  Early Years  Over ten years on, I cannot remember how or why I started to develop mental illness.
